Merkel Gear Merino Crew Shirt (Olive)

The CREW merino long-sleeve shirt by MerkelGEAR was completely revised in 2024. This merino midlayer is a true multi-talent and forms an essential part of the MerkelGEAR layering system from the start of the season in May right through to the last fox stand hunt. The robust, very soft and densely woven merino wool blend – around 240 g/m² – provides a fantastic feel with unmatched insulation. The combination of mulesing-free merino wool and a small polyester content promises the optimum in performance and durability. Worn alone over a merino T-shirt, the long-sleeve shirt is the better alternative to a light jacket during cooler evening hours. Like all pieces in the collection, it is noticeably longer at the back, so there is no chance for drafts to get in, even when field dressing game in a bent-over position.
The highlight of the new CREW shirt is inserts made of merino mesh (also around 240 g/m²), which provide optimal ventilation at the crook of the arm and underarms, keeping the body performing well for especially long periods.
The T-shirt-like round neckline sits close to the neck and prevents any draft. The extra-long zipper allows for effective ventilation down to below the chest. Other features include: soft thumbholes on pre-shaped cuffs, all secured with fine double stitching. These thumbholes make putting on and taking off the shirt much easier and, when needed, provide a good seal around the wrist.
The outstanding properties of merino wool (still warms even when damp, suppresses odor formation) leave any innovative functional underwear made of pure synthetic fiber far behind!
