• always follow the care label before washing
• close all hooks, snap fasteners, etc. before washing
• do not overload the washing machine
• turn the garment inside out
• wash the garment on a hand-wash or wool cycle
• use only wool detergent - this prevents pilling and felting
• after washing, lay flat to dry on a terry towel
• do not wring or knead, as the garment may otherwise shrink or felt
• if hand washing manually, use cold water, as there is also a risk here that the garment may shrink or felt
• Pilling is a natural effect and a quality feature of pure new wool. Pilling nodules can easily be removed from pure new wool with a "fabric shaver".
