Duftzaun® concentrate is used to inoculate existing foam deposits.
Duftzaun® is a product developed in collaboration with the ADAC to reduce or prevent accidents with wild animals on roads.
The concentrate can be used without a gun. The active ingredient can easily be applied to or into the foam using the capillary tube.
Duftzaun® has been used in Germany since 1990 and has become an integral part of many road sections as a measure to reduce accidents involving roe deer. There have even been positive results with wild boar. This system is now also being used on numerous roads in Austria, Switzerland and Spain with equal success.
In Germany, around 30,000 km of roads have already been equipped with scent fence®; The result is an average reduction in wildlife accidents of 76%; In many proven individual cases even up to 100%.
Mode of action
Duftzaun® is based on a special foam that is used in accident hotspots. When exposed to UV radiation, the fine pores contained in the foam open, which release the scent - a composition of odor components of Wolf, lynx, bear and human – release.
The sensitizing effect of the Scent Fence® is based on the interaction of the scent cocktail, street noise and vehicle movement.
Application
Duftzaun® concentrate is used to inoculate existing foam deposits. In order to maintain the effect of the foam depots, they must be re-inoculated with concentrate at least twice a year.
Spray Duftzaun® concentrate either onto or into the hardened foam deposits using the capillary tube. This means that the scent fence® works for approx. 4-6 months. One can contains 500ml, which means the contents of the can are sufficient for the complete, one-sided re-inoculation of a scent fence of approx. 500 m in double rows.
